New York State Flat Apple Pie

Ingredients
  

  • 4 cups flour
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 cup margarine
  • 6 tbsp cold water
  • enough apples sectioned
  • 1 tbsp cinnamon
  • a little lemon juice
  • 1 cup sugar

Instructions
 

  • Peel, core and section each apple into 6 slices
  • Put flour, butter and margarine on marble slab
  • Cut with knife until it is like corn meal
  • Then put in bowl and add ice water
  • Handle just enough so that it stays together
  • Roll into 1" thickness
  • Place in refrigerator for 20 minutes
  • Roll out again after removing from refrigerator, to 1/8 of and inch
  • Use a flat pan or baking sheet 15 x 10 inches
  • Cover with prepared crust
  • Arrange sectioned apples in one layer.
  • Sprinkle with the sugar and cinnamon after mixing together
  • Sprinkle with lemon juice
  • Set oven heat to 450 and bake 20 minutes
  • Then reduce heat to 350 and bake for 30 more minutes
  • Remove from oven and sprinkle with 1/2 cup New York State Maple Syrup
