Equipment

1 Mixing bowl and standard kitchen equipment

Ingredients

  • 4 tbsp butter
  • 1 package mini marshmallows 10 ounces
  • 6 cups crisp rice cereal
  • ½ cup chocolate candy melts
  • ¼ cup Halloween sprinkles
  • 32 candy eyes optional

Instructions

  • Butter a 9 x 13-inch pan or line it with parchment paper.
  • Melt the butter in a large pot over low heat. Add the marshmallows and stir until completely smooth.
  • Remove from the heat and stir in the cereal until evenly coated.
  • Press the mixture gently into the prepared pan. Let cool, then cut into squares.
  • Drizzle or dip the treats with melted chocolate and add Halloween sprinkles and candy eyes before the chocolate sets.

Notes

Press the cereal mixture lightly into the pan. Packing it too firmly makes the treats hard.

Serving and Storage

Press the cereal mixture gently into the pan rather than packing it down hard. That keeps the treats soft instead of dense.
